Pledge
of Allegiance
(WEDO -- Women's Environment and Development Organ. of
the WOMEN'S Foreign Policy Council, 1989)
"I
pledge allegiance to the Earth,
and to the flora and fauna,
and to the human life that it supports,
one planet, indivisible,
with safe air, water, soil, economic justice, equal rights and peace for
all."
Daily
Prayer
(anonymous)
Our
Mother who art the Earth
Nourishing are thy ways
Thy web of life be woven
Thy way be found within as it is all around.
Thank you this day for our bread and sweat
And forgive us our misuse of you
as we forgive others their misuse of us.
Lead us not into exploitation
but deliver us from lording it over you
and over each other
and over all our fellow creatures.
For thine are the waters of life,
the feeding, breeding, seeding ground,
for now and for as close to forever as we shall ever come.
So be it.
Our
Mother
(Variation on the Lord's Prayer by Mark Christian and Janie
Young)
Our
Mother,
Who art amongst us,
Hallowed is Thy presence.
Our realm is here,
We sense Thee near,
On Earth,
which is our living Heaven.
Teach us this day to bake our bread,
And accept us in our human-ness
As we accept each other,
in spite of our limitations.
Lead us not into domination,
But empower us to freedom.
For ours is this Air,
This Fire,
This Water,
This Earth,
Forever and Ever.
Blessed Be.
The
witches' 23rd psalm
(Lanie)
The
Earth is my Mother, I have everything I need.
I frolic in her
sunlit green pastures,
And take moonlit baths in her still waters.
In Her, I am
whole.
I fear not the
turn of the wheel, even unto death.
For in Her, all things will be born anew.
My hat and my
broom, they comfort me.
Despite those
who do not understand, I make offerings and feast.
I anoint myself
with oil, and give thanks for Her abundance.
Surely will I walk in peace and honor the Sacred Mother all the days of
my lives.
