Assisting Self and Others with My Psychic Skills An example: Psychic Finder. I found a ring in my front yard while doing some gardening. I asked two people whom I thought it might belong to if they had lost rings. They both said no. Two years later, a friend was visiting. I was watching her do some beadwork, and flash! I knew the ring was hers. I found the ring (I'd almost claim that as another instance of "finding," since my house had been remodeled and everything moved around since I had last seen the ring). When I brought it to her and asked if it were hers, she said "Yes!" I hadn't thought of that ring in months, and had not had that "knowing" experience with the many other friends and acquaintances who had come to the house since I found the ring. It turns out that my friend had lost this ring before I knew her, and before I had moved into this house (she was friends with a former resident). She had never talked with me about the ring. In fact, she didn't talk about it at all. It had been an important gift from her partner, and when she lost it she went out and bought another one, staying quiet as a mouse about the loss because she didn't want to disappoint her partner. Was she happy to have it back? Use your psychic skills to answer this question! Reader: I read cards (and occasionally palms) for many people, including Cella students. I've had feedback many times that my readings were "right on" and useful. An example: In a palm reading done early in Cycle III, I made a time prediction: The querent would meet the love of her life when she was 57. She was dismayed at the time (she was in her late 40s/early 50s) and started dating someone pretty soon after the reading. She told me that part of the reading was inaccurate. Not too long after that, her relationship was over. Many years later, in an online group, she acknowledged that her current partner was, indeed, the love of her life, and that several (!) psychics had told her she wouldn't find her life mate until she was 57. They've been together for several years now.... Using My Psychic Skills in My Daily Life There are so many ways I use my various psychic skills in my daily life. Here's one:
The Hypnopompic State I learned about hypnopompy in 1978, years before I heard the name or associated it with a psychic skill. In a 20th Century French Poets class with Mme. Trepannier in graduate school (French Literature and Language), we studied three French poets. Paul Valery wrote his poems by extending his dreams into consciousness, by exercising and extending his hypnopompic state. I was captivated by this work of Valery's, and practiced it occasionally when I was able to wake without an alarm clock. Those opportunities were few, and soon I forgot about hypnopompic states, with the exception of the occasional reminder when circumstances allowed me to wake slowly, or when I was going through an intense dreaming/dream interpretation phase. When I became disabled (in the early days of Cycle III), I remembered Valery and started working again on extending dream consciousness into waking consciousness. Gradually I learned that not only does this allow me to work even more deeply with psychic dreaming (see oneiromancy, above right), but it also gives me important information about the needs of the day ahead of me. I have been using hypnopompy regularly for many reasons; a primary one being to continue the "getting better organized" work I've been doing throughout Cella (if not throughout my adult life). Using hypnopompic messages to organize my day has resulted in the kind of functional organization of my personal reality which tended to escape me before (see my Personal Growth page for more info). Evaluate the Authenticity of the Information Gained Psychically As for hypnopompy and psychic dreaming, I evaluate the information gained by how they improve (or not) my life. To get to a psychic skill that allows me to better respond to this part of the Cycle III Psychic Skill requirement, let me address claircognition. It took me quite some years of self-study to understand that I am claircognizant. As I explored and experimented with my psychic skills and psychic experiences, I came to a puzzling realization -- most of what I know psychically comes not in some "sense"-related way (clairaudience = hearing things psychically; clairvoyance = seeing things psychically; clairaugust = smelling things psychically, clairsentience = feeling things psychically). I do have a little clairaugust, but basically, I just "know." (I'm not claiming to know everything! I'm just saying that my best psychic gift/skill is my psychic knower.) Claircognition is a tricky psychic skill/gift. There are so many ways we "know" things, and some of those are quite faulty for entirely "natural" reasons. It's also a powerful source of information, frequently the kind of information that others don't consciously want to share. Having good psychic boundaries and psychic ethics are really important for claircognizants. It was only by testing my claircognition that I became convinced of it. How did I test it? By asking for feedback. Here's an example. During a Friday night session of a Cella Weekend (Topic: Magic), we had a presentation that included group discussion. After the discussion, one of my Cella sisters brought up a housekeeping topic -- what to do about people who talk too much. Though she didn't mention names, didn't look at me, or in any way indicate she was referring to me, I "knew" she was. The next morning, before our session began, I had private conversations with two other group members, asking them if I had talked too much, or dominated the conversation. "Absolutely not," they both agreed. On Sunday, I had the opportunity to ask the person who brought up the concern if she had been referring to me, and she said "yes." What I learned from that was that I did "know" what I knew, and also that the problem was not mine, but hers. This was very helpful to me, as it was during a time when I was generally under attack by several folks in the Cella/RCGI community. Another instance? I went through a period of "knowing" whether or not a person looked like her mother or her father (or both), even though I had never met her parents or any of her siblings. After several instances of this, I started asking. I probably asked 20 women over several years' time. I was never wrong. This isn't something I know about everyone, but when I know it, I know it. Documentation That's what I've done here. There are many more instances of claircognition and authentication of my claircognitive skills, as there are other psychic skills, experiences, and efforts that have been authenticated, but what's recorded on this page should suffice for the present purpose. Assist Other Cella Students in Psychic Development I co-organized a Cella Weekend (Topic: Psychic Skills). I've taught three classes at two different Psychic Skills Weekends, one of which was about learning to use our individual psychic gifts and psychic skills as a way to organize and improve our community work. I've had many conversations with Cella sisters about psychic reality: discovering it, naming it, authenticating it, using it judiciously. I also do dream interpretation for many people, including regular work with a Cella sister (counts for psychic skills and counseling both!). Interesting Resources |
