The graphic at right is the earlest form of the Sanskrit word Om. Scholars say they do not know what the pictograph referred to originally. The minute I saw it at the Hindu Culture site (Omkar and Swastika page), I knew what it referred to. I think anyone can see what I saw--an unmistakable resemblance to the fat "Venus" (Great Mother) figures of the Paleolithic Era found across the Eurasian continent. For more information, see my web page on Tara and Om.
