Introduction
to "Peace Is"

Most dictionaries define peace in relationship to war, or the absence of war, or a plan or "roadmap" to prevent war, or end war. They usually tell us that the word "peace" comes from the Latin word "pax." They rarely tell us, however, that Pax was a Roman Goddess, the personification of peace, an earthy maiden who carried an olive branch in one hand and a cornucopia in the other, indicating that the bounty of the giving earth and human well-being are intricately connected.
Our next song, "Peace Is," moves somewhat beyond the dualism of war and peace to offer down-to-earth answers to some of the $64,000 questions we humans sometimes ask, like:

What is Life?
- What is Love?
- What is Peace?
