I'm in the last-minute rush of getting the rest of my Cella documentation online. Putting it online means adding some online links. A trip to
The National Geographic led me to their article on
Meerkats and the benefits of cooperative living. So fascinating that I read the entire thing on the spot, when I should have been back to my Cella documentation.
The role of cooperation in the evolution of living species and systems is well documented in Elisabet Sahtouris' work, and something that fascinates and preoccupies me as a feminist scholar-teaching arachnopriestess. I love finding new references to this biological fact.
Cooperative living rocks!
So does exquisite noticing and finishing my Cella documentation!

An unidentified "mystery ape" (new species? subspecies? hybrid?) is being tracked by primatologist Shelly Williams. Williams is studying a family group in the remote Bili forest in the Republic of Zaire, formerly the Belgian Congo. She's been as close as 15 feet to these creatures who are so big and strong that some locals have called them "lion eaters."
They are bipedal walkers (that's upright, not on all fours), and some are taller than 6 feet.
According to the article at
CNN.com,
"...the mystery apes hoot when the moon rises and sets...."Now why didn't I do that last night, watching that big orange moon rise over the lake, with spectacular Mars nearby and orange-red itself. Furthermore, why aren't we all doing that, every moonrise and moonset? This is the kind of ritual I want in my life, more of this and less of the big public orchestrated ceremonies that define much of neopagan religious activity. I'm not saying I want none of those; I'm not saying they're not worthwhile activities; I'm not saying I haven't had primal experiences between a floor, a ceiling and four walls. I'm just saying this:
Hoot, hoot...hoot.

First shocked, then sad, then angry. I've been following
this story for three years. I hope and pray and act for change, for a spiritual evolution among human beings. This kind of news slams right into my hopes. I'm going outside now. Despite what we do to Her, Nature is a great healer.
