Did you read about the first lion mummy to have been found? It's in Egypt, in the tomb of Maia, the wet nurse of Tutankhamun, in an area dedicated to the cat goddess Bastet. "They" say this confirms that lions were sacred animals to the Egyptians. Ok, I thought all those pieces of art with lions in them confirmed that.
Whatever.

Martin Luther King Day. Seems liks a good day to commemorate my graduation from Cella, even though that happened last month: Sunday, December 14, 2003. A great celebration, lots of friends, drumming, a juicy ritual, great gifts.
And now, after 11 years, I'm...
"Free at last, free at last."
Being in Cella was an odyssey, a journey, a spiritual gift. It also had its nightmarish qualities. As I said in my graduation ceremony: "A spiritual journey is not all sweetness and light."
So I graduated, and I also got an important project delivered by December 31, and now I'm free for
+ updating my biz site (html > css; time-consuming but worth it)
+ growing my web biz
+ creating a new site: graven images, goddess graphics to go
+ creating more graphics (yes! that is totally fun)
+ learning more (ok, I'm only into learning web stuff right now; I'll move back into Goddess student mode after a wee break)
And maybe free for more time for blogging?
We've had our second real snow of the winter here in southern Wisconsin. That puts us way far behind in precipitation and does not bode well for farmers, or even our oaks and little flower gardens. I'll have to make a decision this summer about watering or going with Her flow, which right now is drought.
Ah, but that's a few months down the road.
I guess the other thing I'd better learn is how to archive old blogs.
Hmmm....

Happy New Year!
Humor and Comedy was the video theme of our annual New Year's 24-hour slumber party extravaganza, and we did have fine food and fun, as usual, but my most humorous moment of the day came after all the company left.
I went online to do some search engine optimization work, and found myself at Z Budapest's website. I checked out her "
Musings & More" section and laughed and laughed and laughed when I read her commentary on
Cultural Whores No More...Chick Flick Power Arise!Outrageous! I had been thinking for several months of "chick flicks" and creating a term for the male version. I came up with "guyfi" (after scifi). Z's nomenclature is so much better and makes mine look like a wimpy effort to be politically correct. A must read, despite the typos.
Be well and have fun!
